EASTEX, TX – A multi-car collision in north Houston late yesterday evening killed a woman and seriously injured two young children as well as a Harris County Sheriff’s deputy who was in pursuit of a suspect, reports Fox 26.

A deputy of the Harris County Sheriff’s office was pursuing a robbery suspect at 11 p.m. Wednesday night when he collided with a black vehicle in the intersection of Laura Koppe Road and Lockwood Drive. The struck vehicles subsequently spun out into several other vehicles in the area. A total of seven were ultimately involved in the crash.

The driver of the black vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, and two children in the vehicle were transported to nearby hospitals. One of the children is in critical condition and the other is in stable condition.

The deputy was also transported to a hospital and is in stable condition. Three other people are recovering from minor injuries in hospitals.

The robbery suspect that was being pursued by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy fled the scene of the collision.
