JEFFERSON COUNTY, TX — A 40-year-old man and a 71-year-old woman died Monday night in a two-car crash that hurt multiple others on Interstate 10 near Beaumont, reports 12News.
The accident happened on the westbound lanes of the freeway at Texas Highway 365 at around 8:20 p.m.
A 2004 Honda was westbound when it drifted into the eastbound lanes and struck a 2019 Dodge van.
A 40-year-old Houston man, who was a passenger in the Honda, died in the wreck. A passenger in the Dodge van, 71-year-old San Antonio woman, was also killed.
One passenger from the van was transported by airlift to a Houston hospital, while both drivers and other occupants in the Dodge van were taken to a hospital in southeast Texas.
The accident remains under investigation by Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers.
