PORT ARTHUR, TX – A child was seriously injured after being struck by a car in the Port Arthur area on Tuesday evening.
According to a report by the Beaumont Enterprise, the six-year-old victim was struck at about 7 p.m. within the 2000 block of 17th Street, just north of Roosevelt Park.
The child was rushed to a Houston-area hospital to be treated for potentially life-threatening injuries. Her condition remains unknown as of Wednesday evening.
The circumstances leading up to the crash are unclear. However, police do not believe the driver is at fault at this time.
