HOUSTON, TX — A man died Thursday afternoon after a multi-vehicle collision near Eastwood Park in east Houston, according to Houston Police Department.
The accident happened at 5000 Harrisburg Boulevard in the Greater Eastwood neighborhood at around 12:35 p.m.
HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division said the man was driving a Lexus ES330 eastbound on the road when he possibly suffered a medical episode and became unable to control the car’s speed. The Lexus rear-ended an eastbound Chevrolet Tahoe, pushing it into the back of an eastbound Ford F-350 pickup truck. The Lexus then rolled to the right of the Tahoe and hit the back of the pickup truck before coming to a rest.
The driver of the Lexus suffered critical injuries and was transported to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. He was later pronounced deceased.
The drivers of the Tahoe and the pickup truck were not reported injured.
