Driver dies after multi-vehicle collision in northwest Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A woman was killed early Tuesday morning in a collision involving three vehicles near northwest Houston’s Lakes on Eldridge neighborhood, according to Houston Police Department.

The accident happened on the 5100 block of North Eldridge Parkway at approximately 5:50 a.m.

According to HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division, the woman was driving a gray Toyota Corolla without its headlights on. The car was going southbound on the parkway when it crossed the center line and entered the northbound lanes, where it struck an oncoming red Nissan Frontier. The impact of the crash caused the Corolla to spin before it was hit by a silver Toyota Tacoma going northbound. The Corolla was sent into a ditch on the road’s east side.

Crews worked to extricate the victim and a passenger from the wrecked Corolla.

Authorities confirmed the victim died from her injuries at the scene.

Two occupants in the Tacoma were transported to nearby hospitals with injuries considered non-life-threatening.

No further information has been reported, but an investigation remains underway.
