HARRIS COUNTY, TX — Four workers were injured early Thursday morning when a fire broke out at the ExxonMobil Baytown Olefins Plant in Baytown, according to KHOU11.

The incident occurred on 3525 Decker Drive, along Texas Highway 330, at around 1:00 a.m.

Few details have been released at this time, but three  of the four victims were airlifted to a nearby hospital, while the fourth was transported via ground ambulance. No information has been disclosed on the severity of their injuries, but they were said to be in stable condition.

ExxonMobil said no other injuries were reported, and all other employees were accounted for. Workers have since been evacuated from the area where the flames originated, but the remainder of the plant remains in operation.

The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting an investigation into reports of an explosion. More information is forthcoming pending interviews with the injured workers.

ExxonMobil said crews were called to the scene to monitor air quality following the incident as a precaution.
