Train conductor dies after crash with 18-wheeler in east Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A man was killed early Friday when a train he was on collided with an 18-wheeler in east Houston’s Greens Bayou neighborhood, according to Click2Houston.

Authorities said the fatal incident occurred at 1700 Federal Road at approximately 4:05 a.m.

An early investigation shows the man was working as a conductor and was standing at the rear of the train at the time. The train was backing out of a private rail yard when an 18-wheeler was traveled across the tracks. The driver of the train continued reversing, which appeared to have pinned the conductor against the semi.

Deputies confirmed the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
