News: Motorist Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on Katy Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A man was killed this morning when he was partially ejected from his vehicle following a collision on a Katy Freeway feeder road, KHOU reports.

The single-vehicle collision happened early today in the I-10 service road’s 18800 blocks, between Greenhouse and Baker-Cypress. The motorist was apparently speeding when he lost control of his vehicle and ran off the roadway into a copse of trees, causing the vehicle to overturn and partially eject him. He died at the scene.

Investigators are conducting toxicology tests to determine whether drugs or alcohol were factors, in addition to speed. While he his identity has been determined, it is being withheld until his family can be notified.
